Water Filtration Pitcher: Which Is The Best Water Filtration System?

Thursday, May 6th, 2010 - 2:30 pm | Water Filtration Pitcher

Water Filtration Pitcher

I’m looking for a good water filtration system that produces good tasting healthy water.
It can be faucet, pitcher,or under the sink,i don’t care (but tell me)
I don’t want to be changing filters like every month so something that will last me a long time.

If you can provide me a link!

Brita Water Filters: The Difference Between Brita Filters And Boiling Water?

Thursday, May 6th, 2010 - 5:22 am | Brita Water Filters

Brita Water Filters

I’ve recently moved and the area I’m staying in this year has quite horrid water. It doesn’t seem to be doing peoples skin any good either if water can affect that. My friends just bought a Brita filter and it wasn’t very expensive but I don’t think I would bother to keep buying cartridges for it as we are only here until summer. Does boiling water, then keeping it in the fridge have a similar effect? or not? thanks!
Thank you so much everyone! I know I could have researched it but this was much quicker and I wondered what other people thought of filters, I think I’ll just buy a Brita filter now.
Thank you all!

What Would The Best Water Purification Bottle Be For Travelling To Kenya?

Monday, April 5th, 2010 - 3:00 am | Purification

Purification

I will be traveling to Nairobi, Kenya for 2 weeks in March. What would the best water purification bottle be for such a trip?
I’m traveling with a environmental group… thus I should not be polluting with all the bottled water…. any other suggestions?

Kenmore Water Filters: Kenmore Water Softener Is Acting Up?

Tuesday, May 4th, 2010 - 10:33 pm | Kenmore Water Filters

Kenmore Water Filters

I have a two year old Kenmore UltraSoft 480 water softener. When it begins the regeneration cycle, it looks like all of my water is going out the backwash drain, and the cycle never seems to get going. I also have more water in my salt tank than usual (no salt bridge). I have cleaned all filters and checked the lines. Any thoughts?

Has anyone else seen the new water filter that filters directly into 4 water bottles?

Thursday, August 19th, 2010 - 12:52 am | Water Filter Pitchers

I saw a commercial for this on TV – instead of pitcher, this system filters directly into four water bottles. I can’t seem to find it online or in any stores. Does anyone know what brand makes this product?

what is an easy way to remove the fluoride from the water?

Friday, August 6th, 2010 - 10:27 am | Water Filter Pitchers

I have tried the Nalgonda technique, but don’t really like the taste, my britta filter makes it taste better, so I guess this may be the best solution.
I know that distillation will work, but it is really energy intensive.

some one told me that if you leave a pitcher filled with water for a few days, the fluoride will just go away, but I can’t seem to find out if that would work.

and I am really not looking if I should be taking out the fluoride out of the water, I am just looking for info about how.

alternatively, anyone know how to test for fluoride so I can just try various ways and see if they worked ?

Which is better in your opinion? Portable Water Filter?

Monday, July 26th, 2010 - 5:53 am | Portable Water Filters

If you only bought one, would you buy one of the actual portable water filters or one of the water bottles that filters? They both claim to get 100 gallons? I’m thinking the water bottle would be more convenient, but does anyone have experience with either?

How would you go about this if you had a problem with the water coming out of your sink? Is it an emergency?

Saturday, September 4th, 2010 - 1:23 am | Pitcher Water Filter

there’s black and brown tiny particles coming out of water of the sink in my dorm……I use a pitcher that’s filters and I noticed some brown particles….i don’t know if it’s just the reflection….it’s minimal

I complaint to front desk about the particles an dthey said it’s not an emergency so they wouldn’t call out maintenance for it..from what I hear black particles is only carbon but how about the brown particles
brown particles doesn’t seem normal and sounds like it could be bacteria that’s quite harmful…..there’s quite a bit of black particles as well….
Luke it’s a college dorm not a house lol
exactly it could be feces or dirt that’s not safe and nasty…how is that not an emergency? I could get sick and that’s just gross
luke it’s a dorm we don’t have a stoves in our rooms…i’m not going to go to the lobby just to boil water every friggin day
luke not an emergency but it’s trash? ur an idiot
