Brita Water Filters: The Difference Between Brita Filters And Boiling Water?

I’ve recently moved and the area I’m staying in this year has quite horrid water. It doesn’t seem to be doing peoples skin any good either if water can affect that. My friends just bought a Brita filter and it wasn’t very expensive but I don’t think I would bother to keep buying cartridges for it as we are only here until summer. Does boiling water, then keeping it in the fridge have a similar effect? or not? thanks!
Thank you so much everyone! I know I could have researched it but this was much quicker and I wondered what other people thought of filters, I think I’ll just buy a Brita filter now.

Does anyone have problem when drinking soft water?

We recently had a water softener installed, and have been drinking the treated water. Has anyone had any health problem after drinking this kind of water? Specifically, abdominal discomfort and diarrhea. I have attempted to research this issue, and have not come up with anything conclusive. We even put the water through a Brita filter for coffee and general drinking, but still have the problem. Any ideas?

am i going to die in the hurricane?

the news says like its gonna be bad but i dunno if theyre lying and the grocery store was out of water so what happens if the sewers flood or something and i have no water and i get dehydrated and die or if i go outside in the rain and drown maybe i can just fill up the brita filter thing with rain though i guess that will make it safe to drink right?

Do they actually remove chlorine from the water or just the smell and taste?

Refrigerator issues!?

Ok so whenever you open the fridge at my dads house it smells really weird. It smells kind of like frozen nailpolish remover.. Which is pretty gross. It mainly smells like that in the freezer section. It couldn’t be rotting food or a spill because we keep everything overly clean here. It wouldn’t really be too bad except the water in our brita water filter pitcher has started tasting funny. Like what the fridge smells like. I’m not the only one who thinks so but my dad refuses to believe me (he doesn’t use the pitcher he uses a huge jug of water) and he swears the fridge smells normal. I’m afraid to drink the water in there and stuff and were out of waterbottles and I’m frickin thirsty!! What should I do/ what the honkey mofo is up with this fridge!

what is the contents of the brita water filters?

small black and white particultate. what could I do with 100-200 pounds of it per week?
it is used 2 month old particulate.

my sink water is tasting and smelling funky….?

I have a brita filter for drinking whoch I change religiously…. granted it has been in the 100′s here in Nashville lately, and today it rained for the first time in months… maybe that has something to do with it? It’s almost undrinkable.
