I have a PUR water pitcher and it says to change after 2 months. But, I assume this is for like a family or something (usually that’s what they assume) but I don’t really know. Can I go a lot longer, a little longer? Ideas?

      ^That was terrible grammar. Sorry.

It’s a goldfish. And I’m in a college dorm. I’ve tried reading about using boiled tap water (but cooled down afterward, obviously) and I know I have to reintroduce oxygen to the boiled water, but how can I do that? And just in case the tap water has other minerals in it that might be harmful for the fish, would boiled fountain water be better? Is there any difference?

I also have a simple filter available to me: http://www.amazon.com/Brita-42556-Grand-Pitcher/dp/B000094Y17/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1296608363&sr=8-3 Would using this be good for my fish?
Well I’m not asking about water temperature. I’m just asking about boiling the water so that it’s safe to put the fish in, and what I can do to make tap or fountain water safe to put the fish in. And the fish is in a bowl, not a tank.
Unfortunately I’m a freshman and technically it’s my roommate’s fish and not mine- but she doesn’t really take care of it. I’m going to buy a bigger bowl for the fish and likely some water conditioner, now that I’ve read these answers, but while it’s not my fish I don’t think I can go out and get a 10 or 30 gallon tank for a fish that isn’t mine. Though I wish I could :/ I feel terrible for the poor thing.

I am a person who dislikes water, in general. But I LOVE Aquafina. Other bottled waters, to me, have subtle but unpleasant and unwelcome flavors that make me even more unlikely to drink water. And tap water doubly so. Aquafina does not. I feel like it tastes so clean it’s almost sweet. Lately there has been a lot of bad press about bottled water, though, and it’s negative effects on the environment, and I’m thinking of switching to filtered. But I’m skeptical that anything could compare to Aquafina and afraid I would be disappointed.

I’m wondering if there are other people who have felt the same way about Aquafina but made the switch and what the closest comparison would be (that isn’t horribly expensive and/or inconvenient to find and maintain?) And how close it really is. I feel like filtered tap water I’ve tasted in the past also had a weird flavor.

And, taking it a step further, is there a big difference in taste between the pitcher and the sink filter?

          Thanks!

I saw an ad on television about a water pitcher filter that made 4 or 6 individual glasses at once. I remember it is a pitcher with these 4-6 containers that attach to it. I have googled this all night and I am coming up with nothing. got any idea who makes this?

I have well water and I am trying to find a way to get rid of the rust so I can drink and bathe in the water. Is there a filter I can buy? How do I know if it gets rid of rust? Or can I just put the water in a pitcher and put softener salt in it? What can I do? Be very specific please, thank you

I have been feeling sick the last week and I just noticed that there was algae growing in my Brita pitcher. I have been drinking this for a while so I think this might have been what was making me sick. What are the health effects of drinking water with algae in it?
